The new plant in the United States will also produce Audi electric vehicles

The German automaker Volkswagen Group will build a plant in the United States specifically for the production of electric vehicles under the recently acquired Scout brand, without involving third-party companies.
Source. This was reported by an insider to the German resource Automobilwoche.
"It was decided to build the plant on our own," the source said.
Previously, there were rumors that the Scout brand would produce electric vehicles in partnership with Foxconn or Magna Steyr. However, the Volkswagen Group has not ruled out the possibility of building its own plant to produce Scout models.
Reportedly, the new brand will debut an electric pickup in 2026, after which it will add an electric crossover to its lineup. According to the teaser photos, the electric vehicles will be made in a retro style, very similar to the design of the International Scout of the 1970s. Before launching mass production, the brand intends to demonstrate prototypes of the new products.
There are almost no technical details about any of these models. It is known that they are built on a special platform for electric vehicles.
The company is expected to be fully autonomous in its activities, including the development of new models and their production. The company has been tasked with attracting customers in the United States to sell 250 thousand electric vehicles per year.
According to Automobilwoche, the new plant in the US will also produce Audi electric vehicles.
