VAT and import duty will be charged again for goods for the restoration of Ukraine's energy infrastructure

On 1 May 2023, the period of exemption of imports of goods for the restoration of Ukraine's energy infrastructure from VAT and import duties, and in some cases from excise tax, is to end.
This was reported by the State Customs Service.
Consequently, VAT and import duties will again be charged on goods imported by companies or individuals and transported into the customs territory of Ukraine in international postal and express shipments. These include, in particular
- power generating sets and parts for them;
- individual transformers, their parts, inverters;
- individual batteries, including separators for them;
- systems for providing satellite access to the Internet (Starlink).
It also includes goods provided free of charge by the Energy Community as assistance for the purposes of restoring and repairing the infrastructure of enterprises.
