Specifically, within the lawsuit against Volga-Dnepr, Ukraine intends to seize six D-18T series 3 aviation engines for the AN-124-100 Ruslan aircraft. Another lawsuit concerns the Belarusian defence ministry, from which they plan to take one aircraft engine and an air starter.
According to Bohatykh, the lawsuit against Volga-Dnepr, which is one of the largest logistic companies of russia in the field of air transportation and has enterprises and assets in many countries, is crucial also from the perspective of international confiscation.
"In Canada, a similar procedure has been initiated concerning a Ruslan aircraft, which belongs to the same company and is currently detained by Canada and is to be confiscated in favour of Ukraine. Several more aircraft from this company are 'frozen' by Germany. This equates to hundreds of millions of dollars," added Inna Bohatykh.
