Ukraine considers legalization of medical cannabis for military with PTSD
If the law is approved, Ukrainians will be able to buy marijuana with prescriptions 6 months after it comes into force

Ukraine may legalize medical cannabis to help war veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The Verkhovna Rada is preparing to finally adopt the relevant law in November.
Source. This was reported to Bloomberg by Mykhailo Radutsky, chairman of the Rada Committee on National Health, and several MPs.
The discussion about legalizing cannabis in Ukraine began after the Russian invasion. It reached a peak in July this year when the Verkhovna Rada approved in the first reading a bill to allow the use of cannabis for medical, industrial and scientific purposes.
In the first reading, the bill was supported by 268 MPs out of 450.
The opponents of the initiative include Yulia Tymoshenko's faction. She believes that legalization of medical cannabis will lead to uncontrolled production and consumption of marijuana and called for a referendum on the issue.
The bill is being promoted by the Servant of the People party. Volodymyr Zelenskyy himself has repeatedly advocated the legalization of marijuana.
"For our citizens to survive the pain, stress, and trauma of war, we must finally reasonably legalize medical cannabis treatment for all who need it," he said in July.
If the law is approved, Ukrainians will be able to buy marijuana with medical prescriptions 6 months after it comes into force. However, recreational use will still be prohibited, and production will be strictly controlled by the government.
