The Verkhovna Rada has adopted the government's bill No. 7628 on collective bargaining agreements and contracts.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy.
"Employees and employers will receive more modern and effective tools for social dialogue. In addition, legislative innovations provide new opportunities for the parties to collective bargaining agreements to protect their interests," said Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Tetiana Berezhna.
The bill requires clarification of the scope of collective agreements and contracts, determination of the procedure for the employer to apply the terms specified in the document and establishment of the prerequisites for suspension/termination of certain provisions. The law provides for the accession of new entities to the parties to agreements and contracts.
In addition, it is necessary to establish the link between the norms of collective bargaining agreements at the sectoral and territorial levels, providing for the possibility of concluding territorial agreements in a particular industry.
In addition, the bill allows non-governmental organisations to be involved in consultations and information exchange if their purpose(s) and areas of statutory activity correspond to the essence of the issue under consideration.
It is noted that the document approved by the MPs is in line with the provisions of the European Social Charter, as well as EU Directives 23 and 533. In the process of its development, it was agreed upon by the parties to the social dialogue (trade unions and employers) and experts of the International Labour Organisation.
