Foreign trade turnover decreased by 7% in the first quarter of 2023 – State Customs Service
Ukraine imported most of the goods from China worth $2.6 billion

During the first quarter of 2023, Ukraine imported goods worth $15.5 billion and exported products totalling $10.3 billion. Ukraine imported the most goods from China – worth $2.6 billion, Poland – worth $1.6 billion, and Germany – worth $1.1 billion. The most products were exported to Poland – worth $1.5 billion, China – worth $1 billion, and Romania – worth $997 million.
This was reported by the State Customs Service.
In the total volume of goods imported in January-March 2023, the following categories of goods accounted for 71%:
- machinery, equipment and transport – $4.4 billion;
- during the customs clearance of these goods, UAH 27.8 billion was paid to the budget, which is 27% of customs revenues;
- fuel and energy products – $3.6 billion;
- UAH 23.3 billion was paid to the budget during customs clearance of these goods, which is 23% of customs revenues;
- chemical products – $2.8 billion;
- during the customs clearance of these goods, UAH 19.7 billion was paid to the budget, accounting for 19% of customs revenues.
The top three most exported goods from Ukraine are:
- food products – $6.7 billion
- metals and metal products – $929 million
- machinery, equipment and transport – $812 million.
The customs clearance of exports of goods subject to export duties resulted in UAH 333.1 million being paid to the budget.
